Gallopin' Gerty - A Presentation

21 July 1998:  To honor the 6129 Americans who were serving in the RCAF on 7 December 1941, [Pearl harbor] and to honor the crew of “Gallopin’ Gerty”  which had two American crew members, a presentation ceremony was held at the Aero Space Museum of Calgary.

A replica of the Halifax Nose Art “Gallopin’ Gerty” was painted on an original Halifax skin and presented to Wing Leader Gene Gephart [holding skin panel] of the Confederate Air Force. The man on the right holding the model, was then President and CEO of the museum, Don Reed.

The special guest for the evening was Consulate General of the United States of America, Lisa Bobbie Schreiber Hughes,[Left]who I presented with the first painting of “Gallopin” Gerty. Gene Gephart received the second Halifax skin and painting.
